On this action-packed day tour, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself – literally – in Rotorua’s famous geothermal activity and Māori culture.
Hop on board our comfortable air-conditioned coach and travel from Auckland down to Rotorua in the middle of the North Island. Your driver guide will keep you entertained with commentary as you travel.
Relax with a soak in Rotorua's famous natural mineral hot springs, right on the edge of Lake Rotorua. The Polynesian Spa is known for its restorative and relaxing properties, and the picturesque surroundings only add to the calming atmosphere.
In the afternoon, visit Te Puia, New Zealand's foremost cultural venue, and take a guided tour. You'll learn about the history and culture of the Māori people, see the kind of village their ancestors lived in before the Europeans came to New Zealand, and see master carvers and weavers at work bringing this unique culture to life.
As well as Māori culture, Te Puia is home to a variety of natural wonders. See New Zealand's famous kiwi bird in the kiwi viewing house, and experience Rotorua's geothermal activity with a walk through Te Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley. From boiling mud pools and fumaroles to geysers erupting with vapour, you'll be blown away by the earth's power and uncanny beauty.
At the end of your Rotorua day tour, your coach will return you to Auckland, arriving in the early evening.
Note: Bring your swimsuit. Towels are available to hire, or you can bring your own.
